IRANSCEA: Shahriyar Mansouri read for an MA in English literature and postcolonial Irish literature at University Putra, Malaysia in 2007. His MA thesis examined the emergence and confluence of philosophy, Freudian psychoanalysis and postcoloniality in modern Irish literature. His focused research and publications secured him a competitive Graduate Research Fellow (GRF) position at the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication for the period of his studies at UPM. After thorough examination, his thesis was chosen as a leading Interdisciplinary MA Thesis. Having successfully finished his Master’s degree, Mansouri left Malaysia for Britain to pursue his Doctoral studies in English literature at the University of Glasgow. He finished his doctoral studies within three years, during which he was awarded two very competitive Doctoral Research Awards (RSA 2012 / RSA 2013) from the School of Critical Studies for his research and publications. Mansouri and his family returned to Iran in 2013. He has the pleasure and honor to be a young faculty member at Shahid Beheshti University. Mansouri is also Islamic Republic of Iran’s Bibliography Representative at International Association for the Study of Irish Literature (IASIL). His recent book, The Modern Irish Bildungsroman: Confrontations and Transformations, has been published by Young Scholar’s Press, London (2015).
